Ea server offline :/

Have been unable to connect to the EA servers to play NCAA Football 09 all day. Keep getting the message, "The EA servers are not available at this time. Please try again."

Started this morning, carried through the afternoon and now still happening close to midnight. I'm able to connect to other games from other publishers, and connect to other Internet services through my PS3 without any problem.

So, if this is some kind of scheduled maintenance outage, why no notification from EA beforehand? If they are experiencing some sort of technical problem (again), why no announcement or updates?

Does EA not know what's going on with their systems? Or do they just not give a rats back end and look at this as just another way to give their customers the collective finger?
